Sizzling: Katherine Jenkins shows off her trim figure in a black Stella McCartney creation as she arrives at the GQ Men Of The Year Awards at the Royal Opera House in London

Just two weeks ago, Katherine Jenkins stunned many of her Twitter followers when she hit out at 'hurtful and untrue' reports she had an affair with David Beckham.

And tonight (Tuesday), she hoped to move past the furore as she stepped out in a slinky black dress at the GQ Men Of The Year Awards.

Still looking slimmer following her turn on Dancing With The Stars earlier this year, the Welsh classical singer looked stunning in a daring Stella McCartney gown.

Bringing sexy back: The 32-year-old is still in svelte shape following her appearance on Dancing With The Stars

Arriving on the red carpet of the bash at the Royal Albert Hall, it marked Katherine's first public appearance since she vehemently denied the Beckham reports two weeks ago.

Ahead of her arrival, she tweeted: 'Amazing shoot for the new album today... Now it's a quick dress change and off to the GQ Awards! (Dress by Stella).'

Her red carpet appearance comes after she returned from performing in China.

Glowing: The singer teamed her striking black gown with a deep golden tan

Katherine was furious when she kept seeing her name linked to the married father-of-four, so put out a denial on the micro-blogging site on August 24.

She wrote: 'Dear Twitter friends, I've read some horrible rumours on here & want u 2 know I absolutely deny I’ve had an affair with David Beckham.

'The rumours are very hurtful, untrue & my lawyers tell me actionable.

Stella fans: Olympic cyclist Victoria Pendleton wore a short version of Katherine's McCartney gown, and jazzed it up with a belt

'I’ve only met David twice: once at the Military Awards in 2010 & on a night out in the West End in Feb 2012.

'We were out in a group of friends & it was just a normal fun evening out. Just so we are clear I have never been on my own with him and never arranged to meet up.'

Meanwhile, a representative for Beckham told the MailOnline at the time: 'Unfortunately, we have to deal with this type of nonsense on Twitter.

Ladies in black: Kylie Minogue and Lara Stone both opted for plain dresses on the red carpet, but both stood out in their simple designs

Glitzy: Kelly Brook, Olivia Munn and Tara Palmer-Tomkinson all shone in their glittery dresses

'One minute David is dead... then a more scurrilous rumour, there is not one jot of truth to any of it.'

Her choice of gown was remarkably similar to Olympic gold medallist Victoria Pendleton, who also opted for a Stella creation with cut-out sheer side panels.

As well as the usual guests of pop stars, models and actresses, there was a host of Olympians.

Scot Sir Chris Hoy looked dapper in a grey suit as he arrived with wife Sarra, who looked sleek in a black dress.
