Lucy Mecklenburgh tried her best to look elegant and classy on Monday night but almost failed to pull it off.
The usually well dressed star of The Only Way Is Essex made sure she put on her best frock for the Pride of Britain Awards 2012, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, in London.
However, Lucy, 21, made the mistake of wearing a very visible black bra with a dress that clearly should have had no underwear worn with it at all.
Oops a daisy: Lucy Mecklenburgh made the mistake of wearing a bra with her sheer dress at The Pride of Britain Awards 2012, on Monday
The reality TV star wore a sheer black dress with a top half that featured some very well positioned lace, that would have spared her blushes if she had gone bra-less.
Unfortunately, for Lucy, she opted to wear a very visible black bra that could easily be seen through the dress and made her look less than classy.
If the honey blonde had been a tad braver she could have left her undergarment at home and stolen the spotlight with her showstopping dress.
All laced up: Lucy still managed to look elegant as she arrived at the Grosvenor House Hotel, in London
Fashion faux pas: The normally well dressed reality TV star should have left her bra at home
However, despite the obvious poor choice in underwear, Lucy still looked pretty good with her long locks in loose curls.
She sashayed down the red carpet in her floor length gown and carried a cream clutch bag with her.
Ahead of the event she tweeted: 'On my way to the @PrideOfBritain awards,Such an Honour to be invited to celebrate such amazing people! ... Tissues at the ready!x'.
While Lucy was joined by Joey Essex and James Argent, she explained that the rest of her co-stars were unable to attend as they were at work.
Top heavy: Lucy was honoured to be at the event and was looking forward to seeing what people had been doing for charity
Leave your hat on: James Argent also attended the event and he escorted Lucy home at the end of the night
She told The Daily Mirror: 'A lot of the cast are still filming for the finale on Wednesday so that's why there's only a few of us handpicked to come. Everyone's still filming.'
Speaking before the event Lucy also praised all the handwork of the people being honoured on the amazing evening.
She said: 'It's an amazing night, it's just really nice to see what everyone's been doing with all the charity work. It's just an honour to be here. It's an inspiration.'
